Ramayana - The Story of Lord Rama

We are going to celebrate Ram Navami - the appearance day of Lord Rama on coming 2nd of April. And our National Channel also has started broadcasting of Ramayana once again so at least new generation can also take flavor of our Vedic culture and importance of it. Ramayana means Ram-Ayana its Ram-The supreme enjoy-er and Ayana means place so it means the place where we can live happily and enjoy, so it's shelter of only Lord Rama's lotus feet without taking shelter of Lord Rama, we can not keep our self happy and it is impossible. But, unfortunately we are trying to be happy without Lord Rama in our life and thinking our self smart and result we become more miserable. Most of the people believe it's myth and there is no truth behind it, So for their kind information, it's not a mythological story, mythological story can only give you momentum pleasure but this Ramayana is giving you eternal pleasure since more than 100 thousands of years and still we are not only ju

Why we should follow Lock Down?

Where whole world is under threat of Corona Virus and people are appealed to be at home and its lock down everywhere but most of the people do not take it very serious. They don't even know these all are happening to just for our safety and nothing else but people are taking it other way and doing nonsense activities. It is said, "Prevention is better than cure." So better follow lock down and be safe else everyone can see the result outside nothing to say about it. I share you one story where first lock down started and what happens the result if it is not followed. When Mother Sita asked Lord Rama for golden deer while they were in exile, Lord Rama ran behind the dear to catch and told Laxmana to take care of Mother Sita. But it was Ravana's plan when Lord Rama goes behind deer he hide himself behind and asked Maricha (in the form of deer) when you shot by Rama you asked name of Laxmana and Sita and When Lord Rama shot deer he started taking name of Mother

9 Reasons to Respect Others

We always want to know the reason behind everything because we look everything in very scientific way but our Vedic Scriptures are very advanced and it gives us valid reason to do anything. Here we are going to see, why we should give respect to others by looking all aspects. Living Entities: As Krishna stated in B.G 15.7, all living entities are part and parcel of mine; ममैवांशो जीवलोके जीवभूत: सनातन: । मन:षष्ठानीन्द्रियाणि प्रकृतिस्थानि कर्षति ॥ ७ ॥ The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal frag-mental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind. Human Life: As human form of life is very precious so we should respect them; Among all the species of life we souls may inhabit, human life is the best because it affords us the higher intelligence with which to make spiritual progress. In plant or animal bodies, our consciousness is too undeveloped. Good Quality: If someone has good quality the

Lesson From Corona

Where we were talking about to reach at moon in next few years and planing to shift there from earth. Whether Vedic life always emphasized on leading a simple and self reliant life. Where we were talking about advancement in science and technologies and trying to acquire everything at our finger tips. In our race to ape the western culture, we ignored the wisdom of our four fathers & now we are facing shortage of basic necessities of life. We were thinking our self superior than other living entities and feeling proud and Birds and Animals were living a fearful life and were always in lock down situation and now they are living freely and we are in lock down situation. This Corona is nothing but showing us our power and we can learn from it until and unless we will not live a simple and meaningful life and show our compassion to other living entities we will not be happy. Our basic necessities of life was fulfilling very easily but we thought it is so simple to live a natura

Happy Navratri and Gudi Padwa.

We are celebrating Gudi Padwa (In Maharashtra) and other places it is known as Navratri a festival of Goddess Durga. Goddess Durga is mother and in charge of this material world and she has power to give us facility to be a devotee of Lord Krishna or suffer in this material world. Here is one incident I am sharing where mother Parvati (Durga) talking to Lord Shiva and asking about after Lord Shiva completed His penance of 1000 years. Mother Parvati asked whom you meditate all the time and become happy let me know the secret of it. Lord Shiva smiled and replied to Mother Parvati I always meditate on Lord Vishnu, who is worship able to all and that is the reason I always be happy. But I am too busy in my houses work and I can not have that much time to meditate on Lord Vishnu because taking Lord Vishnu's 1000 names (Sahastra naam) will take too much time. Lord Shiva told to mother Parvati, "Dear Parvati why you are worried, I tell you one short cut withing your time you

The real meaning of Economic Development

Today's modern society is completely depend upon artificial way of living and creating high scrapper  building, more factories, malls, theaters and that is called economic development but that is not a good way of civilization for our society and it is totally against the nature. In Srimad Bhagwatam 1.10.4 Srila Prabhupada writes in purport what is real development and how it was there in the time of Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira. कामं ववर्ष पर्जन्य: सर्वकामदुघा मही । सिषिचु: स्म व्रजान् गाव: पयसोधस्वतीर्मुदा ॥ ४ ॥ During the reign of Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, the clouds showered all the water that people needed, and the earth produced all the necessities of man in profusion. Due to its fatty milk bag and cheerful attitude, the cow used to moisten the grazing ground with milk. The basic principle of economic development is centered on land and cows. The necessities of human society are food grains, fruits, milk, minerals, clothing, wood, etc. One requires all these items to fulfill th

Never judge people by their attire

Now a days people are judged by their attire, if person is well dressed then he is known as great person and if a person is in simple and ordinary cloth he is calculated as lower class people. One of his lecture Gaurnaga Prabhu told the definition of corporate people, Stressed, Depressed but still well Dressed. Means if you are well dressed then you will be treated as great personality and if person is not like that we underestimate their value. I am sharing you one story where we can learn we should never judge anyone by their attire. As the story goes, in 1920, the Maharaja of Alwar, a fabulously wealthy ruler his name was King Jai Singh Prabhakar, visited London, and one day decided to walk around the city “incognito,” wearing ordinary English clothes. Passing by a Rolls Royce showroom, King Jai Singh decided to go inside. He asked the staff about the specifications of the Rolls Royce cars and their prices. However, the salesmen just saw a man with the face of an Indian. Igno

Stop Watching Breaking News

In this panic situation people are sending more and more videos, messages even that is not all correct and most of it is fake but due to rumors people are more worried. In breaking news it shows repeated news for whole day and called it breaking news, the meaning of breaking news is once in a day and not to create fear in the people by showing same news again and again this way people become more panic. And in this way more of the people get phobia of it and become sick only by hearing the news. I share you one story where we see rumors make more fear in the people than actual news. Once upon a time one sage met one dangerous disease and asked, "This time how many people you are going to kill?" That disease smiled and told not more than 100 and he left. After some times while disease was returning back sage asked to disease, "You are a big liar, you told me I will kill only 100 people but instead you killed 500 people?" Disease smiled and told, "My dear

Out of Sight Out of Mind

Everyone in this material world looking for his sense gratification and today's culture is purely based on lust to attract the people to fulfill their sex desires. But one thing we must understand this lust is the door of Hell and the person who are engaged to fulfill his sense desires never be happy and always be unsatisfied and unsatisfied person can not live a peaceful life. But this can be controlled by if we keep our self away from type of people who are involved into it, glamours, media, pornography, mix cultures etc. Because it is function of our mind until and unless it will not hear, see something about sense objects till the time it will be silent and won't disturb us. So better keep our self away from these things as and let mind be in stable condition. I am going to share you a great story from Srimad Bhagwatam where we can learn from how "Out of Sight Out of Mind" really works and we can not protect our self from getting involved into sense gratifica

When Situation goes out of our Control

We think we are the controller and everything is under our control and when we want we can change the situation. But sometimes God shows us our control, we are nothing but a tiny insignificant thing and can not do anything when situation goes our of our control. We want to be the master of everything and everyone and think people and situation are under our control. But this is the lesson we should lesson from this incident we are controlled by super power (God) and none of the things are under our control, we can see most of the countries are fighting against Corona Virus and can not do anything against it to stop it. Whatever we try we can not get rid of Birth, Death, Diseases and Old age until and unless we will not take shelter of Krishna. In Srimad Bhagwatam it is already mentioned, where Cows and Brahmanas will not get respect there will not be any peace in that community. Killing innocent animals just for our taste will create a big disaster and no one can stop it. So

Don’t always looks for practical tips

Most of the time people used to ask, give me some tips for mind control and more on concentration so we can control our mind and keep our concentration very much on our task.    Sometimes we give some tips to them to follow then your mind will be under your control, you do this you will improve your concentration. But from inside I always think, are these tips will be applicable for all of them? Or more of them will be more confused and will be in more miserable condition than past while applying this to in their life. So I got the final conclusion, we should not always look for practical tips, instead we should accept our own reality and try to do whatever I can do best in that situation to get the solution. In class one of the students asked me, “I am unable to learn shloka because of lack of my concentration what do I do?” So I cannot give him practical tips to sit at one place and forcefully bring your mind under control and try to recite shloka and do this for 5 t

Krishna is the only shelter

Everyone is looking for the shelter when problem comes in our life, we take shelter of people, Doctors, Psychologist, Financier but shelter in dangerous situation from this world can not be given up because everything is temporary shelter except Krishna the supreme personality of Godhead. In Vrindavana when Krishna was a small child and all his Cowherd friends used to go in dense forest without any fear. As usual one day while they were playing they saw a gigantic cave never seen before and out of excitement they entered into it and when they went little ahead they understood it is not cave but something danger in form our death but they did not come back they move ahead  thinking why should we fear if Krishna is there? Krishna was watching all these and smiling on his friends and thinking, "My friends went into the caves but it is a great demon Aghasura sent by Kamsa to kill me. " Krishna finally went into the Aghasura's mouth and killed Aghasura and saved all his

Fear of Death

Everyone is under fear of death nowadays because of Corona Virus. Most of the people are in fear and due to fear they think I am the one who can come under death threat. But one thing we must know, Our Life and Death are already decided and its fixed before we come to this planet and no one can change it. Everyone knows who was king Parikshit. He was the son of Abhimanyu and grandson of a great warrior Arjuna from Kuru vans (kuru Dynasty). The incident happened when Parikshit Maharaj went hunting. The King, after pursuing a specific prey in the forest for a long time, had become tired and hungry. This was when he came across the hermitage of Rishi Shamika. Unaware that the rishi was under a vow of silence, the King enquired about the prey but the rishi answered not. Enraged by the Rishi’s silence, Parikshit Maharaj placed a dead snake on the Rishi’s shoulder with the end of his bow. The Rishi still did not protest. Observing this, Parikshit Maharaj became repentant and walked away

People around me are not so Good?

Often we blame to the people around us they are not so good and how can we tolerate them? But if we are good then this world also looks good just we have to see with glass of compassion, tolerance, devotion, faith and trust. Here is one small incident I am going to share you from the Ramayana. Vibhishana the younger brother of Ravana the demon king of Lanka was a great devotee of Lord Rama and he always used to chant Lord's holy name and remember pastimes of the Lord all the times. In Lanka people were full of demonic nature and they were fully involved in meat eating, intoxication, gambling and illicit sex, except Vibhishana. Even Tulsidas Baba has mentioned the citizens of Lanka in Sri Rama Charit Manas: लंका निसिचर निकर निवासा। इहाँ कहाँ सज्जन कर बासा।। Once news spread-ed all over Lanka that Vibhishana is writing the name of Lord Rama on his wall and when Ravana heard about it he personally went to see Vibhishana. After seeing Lord Rama's name on wall Ravana beca

Concept behind fullfillment of our Desires

Decades before there was a famous dialogue from the film, "Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai." became very popular and people used to keep trying in their lives may be it's true. And it became so popular evern most of the motivational speaker started using this dialogue in their speech to convince their audience, if you wish something and keep thinking of that thing all the time that thing will be yours after some time. Do you think if it is going to work then if everyone started desiring and thinking they must get the things but how many of they get their desires fulfilled hardly 1 or 2 out of 100. So that is not 100 percent correct theory, if you desire some thing then this nature will help you to get the things. In Bhagwad Gita Chapter 5.13 to 5.16 it is deeply explained how our desires get fulfilled. Actually there is a science behind it, there are three doers applicable to fulfill our desires: 1.

Learning Lessons from Tree

While Krishna were playing with His cowherd boys enjoying their childhood pastimes they reached under one tree. Krishna immediately told to one of His friends, "Do you know these trees are very great and they only give to us never expect anything from us." Krishna further explains about the many qualities of the trees and how a human being can also learn and live happy life. Here few things we can learn from the tree and make our life happy and peaceful. Grow with deep Root: We see, the tree never changes its root, but it changes its leaves. Its root goes deeper into deeper so it can be more strong. Changing the leaves can not harm to the tree, but changing the root can make the tree dead. The same way our Scriptures, Traditions, Love and Faith are our roots if we try to change it then we will be dead. Be Internally Connected: Each tree are internally connected with each others one root goes inside the earth and bind other roots of the tree tightly so they can preven

Life's problems are like holding the Glass

In classroom Professor asked to his students, "Can you guess weight of this glass?" Student replied, "It may be 100 gms." Professor replied, "That's good". and what if I hold it for an hour? Student replied, "Sir, you feel little pain in your hand." Professor replied, "That's true". and what if I hold it for whole day? Student replied, "Sir, it will freeze your hand and you feel more pain." Professor asked, "But do you think weight of the glass got change during this time of process? Student replied, "No Sir, weight of the glass is still same." Then what was the cause of pain in my hand as the weight of the glass was remain same? Professor asked? There were no answer in whole class. Professor told to the students, "My dear students, weight of the glass is still same but the reason behind my pain is I was holding the glass for long time and if I keep it down I can feel relax."

The main Thing should always remain the main Thing

Most of us set our Goal and start working on it slowly-slowly to achieve that, but when we reach at some level we distract from our path and start doing something else. And that is the reason most of us failed to achieve our Goal and become failure. There is a nice past times in the Srimad Bhagwatam first canto about the great sage Narada Muni, when his mother died, he left his home for self-realization under the direction of great sages. Narada Muni was only 5 years old but he was fully determined about his Goal and when he left his home and went through forest he saw very beautiful places, rivers, gardens and hills but he stayed for some time and left because he always keep reminding himself, "Is it my ultimate Goal?" After crossing rivers, forests he reached in a very beautiful city where he saw so much opulence and palaces, people requested Narada Muni to stay there as he was a little child but Narada Muni asked himself, "Is it my ultimate Goal?" And he

A visit to GEV

Srila Prabhupada was very much concerned about modern life style and he always used to tell his disciples, only building temples are not enough to live a pure Krishna Conscious way of life along with it we must follow our Vedic Culture and in our Vedic Culture we were fully dependent on Cows and Lands but in modern age we have rejected both and result we are not getting healthy foods and milk products. So we have to build Farm Communities where we can live a healthy life and in minimum amount of time we can produce grains, vegetables, fruits and milk products etc. and rest of the time they can do their devotional service. Milk and Grains can not be produced in factories and for this we require Cows and Lands. Govardhan Ecovillage is a project of International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The project is owned and managed by ISKCON Wada, Maharashtra. It is the result of an ardent desire of H.H.Radhanath Swami Maharaj to fulfill the dream of his beloved guru, His Divine

Happy Holi

India is the country of festivals, each and every festival we celebrate bring some lesson out of it. Today we are going to celebrate Holi- the festival of Colors and friendship on this day people forget their enemy’s tendency with others and greet each other’s with joy and happiness. Before celebration of Colors we burn Holika, there is story behind burring Holika. There was powerful demon King Hirnyakashyapu who was always jealous with Lord Vishnu and thinking himself more powerful that all other living being even Demigods. But his own son Prahalada was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu and always busy in devotional service, after hearing this from teachers of Prahlad Hirnyakashyapu became very angry and warned Prahalada not to take name of Vishnu further but   Prahalada continues doing the same even after warning of Hirnyakashyapu. Out of envy from Lord Vishnu Hirnyakashyapu tried to punish Prahalada and applied so many tricks but he got fail in all and then his sister as

Gaura Purnima - Appearance Day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

Most of the people may not be familiar with Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, but in our Gaudiya Community Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu considered as the Savior of the whole world. He is the one who saved us from the effect of Kaliyuga and taught to be Human and be a servant of servant of and servant of a Vaishnava. He appeared in West Bengal Nadiya District Mayapur around 500 years ago as son of Sachhi Devi and Sri Jagannath Mishra. Mother Sachi Devi is none other than Mother Yashoda and Sri Jagannath Mishra none other than Father Vasudeva and Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is none other than Krishna. Before His birth it was already predicted in Srimad Bhagwatam in Canto 11.5.32. कृष्णवर्णं त्विषाकृष्णं साङ्गोपाङ्गास्त्रपार्षदम् । यज्ञै: सङ्कीर्तनप्रायैर्यजन्ति हि सुमेधस: ॥ ३२ ॥ In the Age of Kali, intelligent persons perform congregational chanting to worship the incarnation of Godhead who constantly sings the names of Kṛṣṇa. Although His complexion is not blackish, He is Kṛṣṇa Himself. He

No Pain, No Gain

Most of the time people see only one part of the successful people and that is his success but they never try to see the other part which is hidden and full of failures, pain and learning. Reason behind it is the first part is easily visible to all of us, but second part only that person has experienced it and he only knows it very well. There is one famous quote from Sir APJ Abdul Kalam, " Don’t read success stories, you will only get a message. Read failure stories, you will get some ideas to get success. " But all of us are very much attached to know the success stories, but and try to follow that person and think of ourselves will be successful one day without any failures, pain and learning. I share you one of great personality and businessman Steve Jobs- Founder, CEO and Chairman of Apple Inc. We only heard about his successful life and business growth, but never tried to know the pain behind it how he become successful. Success is not a tool we just have to apply

Science is going to Conquer Nature?

A few years back I heard that Science is going to Conquer Nature and it will create its own nature where people can enjoy and fulfill their dreams. But we all can see how drastically we are fully dependent on science and lost our faith in God and result we are suffering from our own Karma. Now a day where ever we see people are talking about only Corona virus, how it has completely changed the whole world and majorly China-who was thinking himself ahead in science and technology, but we can see how the fear of death in the mind of the people dragging into miserable condition. One thing is sure, if we try to go against the Nature, Nature will never leave us from its reaction and we have to suffer and no one can help us. In ancient time there were more faith on God and that was the reason people were happy and now a days people have lost their faith and completely living Godless civilization and result, they are living frustrated life, more diseases, more stress although there are

Bhagwad Gita in Modern Age

This world is like Kurukshetra and we are like Arjuna our daily problems are like Duryodhana's army awaiting to attack, but if we are in the shelter of Krishna, surely Krishna will save us from all dangers. People may ask what is the use of studying the Bhagavad Gita in the present age as there are so many technologies are available to solve our problems. How relevant is it to modern life? And what value does it add to one’s life? So, In reply Prabhupada Ji used to give answers, "You think you are so much developed and capable to solve your all the problems, so please tell me where is the solution for Birth, Death, Old age and Diseases? That is our major problems." and everyone used to sit keep quit. Everyone is trying their level best to solve life problems, but instead of solving problems problems become more complicated, reason we are not trying to find out root cause our problems and we are trying alternate solution for it. If we buy any gadget then there is

Clarity breeds Mastery

Yesterday I was attending seminar about children education, growth and their future and we are pleased to infrom, our temple Sri Sri Radha Giridhari has started a unique way of education which is known as "Radha Giridhari Home School". I was thinking about what is wrong in current education system as there are many more facilities, high tech support system to educate children well qualified teachers then where is wrong and why children are not taking their study so seriously and why they are not clear about their Goal. I used to go to the schools and colleges for Bhagwad Gita seminar to educate children to learn morality and value and use it in their knowledge in better way. Once I visited one school and I was talking to Principal about their education system and how they shape their students to do better in life. In half an hour talk I just got to know the conclusion that school is manufacturing product instead of providing education to children. All the time I just h
