Most of the people may not be familiar with Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, but in our Gaudiya Community Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu considered as the Savior of the whole world. He is the one who saved us from the effect of Kaliyuga and taught to be Human and be a servant of servant of and servant of a Vaishnava. He appeared in West Bengal Nadiya District Mayapur around 500 years ago as son of Sachhi Devi and Sri Jagannath Mishra. Mother Sachi Devi is none other than Mother Yashoda and Sri Jagannath Mishra none other than Father Vasudeva and Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is none other than Krishna.
Before His birth it was already predicted in Srimad Bhagwatam in Canto 11.5.32.
कृष्णवर्णं त्विषाकृष्णं साङ्गोपाङ्गास्त्रपार्षदम् ।
यज्ञै: सङ्कीर्तनप्रायैर्यजन्ति हि सुमेधस: ॥ ३२ ॥
In the Age of Kali, intelligent persons perform congregational chanting to worship the incarnation of Godhead who constantly sings the names of Kṛṣṇa. Although His complexion is not blackish, He is Kṛṣṇa Himself. He is accompanied by His associates, servants, weapons and confidential companions.
In one of his composition Sripad Vasudeva Ghosa has stated, "Jei Gaura Sei Krishna Sei Jagannath" and further He explains with folded hands, “He who is Gaura is He who is Krishna is He who is Jagannatha.”
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the Supreme Person, Krishna Himself, appearing as His own devotee, to teach us that we can gain full enlightenment simply by chanting the holy names of the Lord:
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
It is considered that Kaliyuga will be the most dangerous age, and who will under the protection of Dharma will be safe as it is said, धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः - If you protect Dharma, Dharma will protect you.
There are many faults in Kaliyuga, here are few list:
1. Kaliyuga will be considered very advanced, each will act as he wishes.
2. Men will be addicted to meat and liquor and will be weak in Dharma.
3. Rains will be shower down at the wrong time.
4. The highest purpose of life will be to fill one's belly.
5. Houses will be desolate because of the lack of chanting of Vedas and absence of Guests
6. There will be no marriage further, women chose men from their own.
7. Because of Killing cow, people will drink goat or sheep milk.
8. The one who lack money and can not bribe will be deprived of justice by the courts.
9. People will not think twice before cutting down trees.
10. Who has money will be considered of noble birth and as having good qualities.
In Srimad Bhagwatam Canto 12.3.51, there is a description of Kaliyuga 5000 years ago.
कलेर्दोषनिधे राजन्नस्ति ह्येको महान् गुण: ।
कीर्तनादेव कृष्णस्य मुक्तसङ्ग: परं व्रजेत् ॥ ५१ ॥
My dear King, although Kali-yuga is an ocean of faults, there is still one good quality about this age: Simply by chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, one can become free from material bondage and be promoted to the transcendental kingdom.
Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is none other than Lord Krishna himself, who came into this world to teach us pure devotional service and how to surrender ourself in the lotus feet of Lord Krishna. Because when Lord Krishna spoke Bhagwad Gita and thought people will follow my path and they will be liberated instead people started falling down and kept busy in sinful activities.
Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is so merciful, He thought I told my teaching, but let me try it for my own and by seeing me people will follow me, as Lord Krishna has already stated in Bhagwad Gita Chapter 3..
यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः ।
स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते ॥ २१ ॥
Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues.
So, Lord Krishna himself came in the form of Golden Complexion (Gauranga) to deliver most fallen soul like us and bring us back home back to Godhead.
