Where you focus energy goes there

Guru Dronacharya spiritual master of Kuru (Pandwas and Kaurvas) were always glorifying Arjuna about his focus and his energy in the right direction and being a good disciple in His Gurkul. But Duryodhana felt jealous of Arjuna and his talent. Once Duryodhana came to Dronacharya and started accusing him of favoring Arjuna and ignoring the rest. To prove him wrong, Dronacharya placed a wooden bird on a branch and decided to put everyone through a simple test. He gathered all his disciples and asked them to strike the eye of the wooden bird. But before doing this, he asked each one of them a question. He first called and asked Yudhisthira, "What do you see there?" Yudhishthira replied, "I see a wooden bird, the branch and the tree, the leaves moving and other birds." Everyone else who followed also mentioned the same thing i.e tree, branch, bird, leaves etc. and Dronacharya asked them all to keep your bow & arrow down. When it was Arjuna's turn, he

Don't follow the Majority follow the Right Way

Most of the people follow the majority whether it is right or wrong does not matter, they have already fixed up in their mind what most of the people are doing is perfect we don't need to apply our mind to it. But God has gifted something to us which is called Brain and it is for that purpose to apply and check what is right and what is wrong? People think it is so called trends and if we do not follow we will be considered as backward and to maintain the trends they do what they not suppose to do. And most of the people are following the majority without knowing the reason why they are following it? The human form of life is considered the top most and if we do not apply our mind to search the right way and what is my goal then it is just a waste. When Vibhishana tried to make Ravana understand if he will fight with Lord Rama, he will lose his empire and he will be the cause of destruction of whole demon density. But Ravana due to his anger told Vibhishana you are a cowar

Top 5 Leadership Qualities by Lord Rama

After attending so many corporate leadership training programs and project management training programs, I am now able to connect all these to Lord Rama's leading qualities, how He was a great leader and good project manager. Leaders are not those who just care for himself to grow and exploit their people but leader are those who help their people to grow parallel and in his absence their people are able to manage the situation. Leadership is not about personal relationship oriented but it's people oriented. " If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a true leader. " When Ravana heard that Lord Rama has reached in the seashore and trying to build a bridge to cross the sea, he laughed out loudly and said to his ministers, "Do you all think these monkeys can build that bridge to reach us?" But Lord Rama applied Nala and Nila the two architect brothers who were talented in creating bridges and Hanuman

How to deal Smartly

In this world we try to deal very smart way in our day to day life, but sometimes we deal in such a wrong way we think we are in profit but actually we do our big loss. Often it seems that we are only the smart and cunning and none other than me deal so nicely and being over confident we forgot to see all the aspects and only focusing on one thing we take our decision and become fool. For any decision we have to keep our long term vision what is right and what is wrong? But we only think of short term and immediately take the decision. According to our Vedic scriptures no one is enough intelligent to take the decision in his own so better take guidance from that person who can direct us well and this way it will help us to take a right decision. I am sharing you one of the incidents of Mahabharata while Duryodhana was against Pandvas and wanted war. Duryodhana and Arjuna went to meet Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna asked to both, "My dear Duryodhana and Arjuna as you know I am

Winning the battle but losing the war

Sometimes we become so envious of others that we cannot see others to move forward and think if I cannot go ahead how can that person go in front of me. It seems in our relations, work culture and society we never want someone to grow and encourage them for their growth and achievement instead we feel jealous and started burning in the fire of it day and night. I am sharing you one of the story about King Prithu and Indra. King Prithu was a very pious king in his time and he was doing his 100 Ashwamedha Yagna (Horse Sacrifice) and he reached till his 99th Yagna. When he started his 100th Yagna, Indra the King of the Demigods could not tolerate King Prithu's Yagna and he came in the form of a Brahmin and stole the horse and flew away, this way when King Prithu start his 100th Yagna all the time Indra come and stole his horse. One day the son of King Prithu ran behind that person and saw, he is not a Brahmin but Indra, they returned to their father and told about Indra's a

Importance of Vedic Education to children

Yesterday during the class one of the parent complains about his children about disobey. I just asked them how much time do you give to your children to teach morality? They had no answer. I told them all the time we only force our children to study and keep motivating them for competete to others and they are doing it well then how can you expect about good behavior and morality if you don't teach them. If we teach our children Bhagwat Gita and Ramayana, they must be in discipline. So, someone can ask how it can be possible by teaching of Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana. So in one of lecture H. H. Bhakti Vikas Swami Maharaj was telling children are very innocent and they are like new hardisk of compute if we keep uploading good data on our computer hard disk and keep its memory full then there will be no space for bad data to upload, it will reject by saying, "storage is full, there is no memory." The same way if we keep teaching our children shlokas of Bhagwad Gita eithe

Five main reasons of our Suffering

In this world, everyone has some problem someone can have family problem, someone can have a business problem, someone can have financial problem, so nobody can say I don't have problems in my life. One thing we must accept we cannot keep away ourselves away from problems as " Problem is the Part of life, but handling problem is the Art of life ". I am sharing you one short story. There was one person who was always worried about his problems and to find out the solutions he went to one Sadhu (Sage). He told to Sadhu about all problems of his life and analyzing his problems Sadhu told to that person, "Can you do one favor for me?" He agreed and told to Sadhu, "What I have to do?" Sadhu told, "I have around 100 camels and can you just keep watch tonight with all of them not to stand." The man agreed and stay that night at Sadhu's place and started monitoring each and every camel so they cannot stand, but he tries one camel to sit

Lord Shiva - A Pure Vaishnava

Most of the people take Lord Shiva in another way by intoxicating themselves and whatever they want for their own sense gratifications, but Lord Shiva has a very unique quality and he always busy in the welfare of others as we can see how He drank poison and saved entire world and keep chanting Lord's holy name to please Lord Krishna. But unfortunately these qualities of Lord Shiva we never want to see and implement in our own life. In Srimad Bhagwatam (12.13.16) it is mentioned: निम्नगानां यथा गङ्गा देवानामच्युतो यथा । वैष्णवानां यथा शम्भु: पुराणानामिदं तथा ॥ १६ ॥ Just as the Ganga is the greatest of all rivers, Lord Acyuta the supreme among deities and Lord Sambhu [Lord Shiva] the greatest of Vaishnavas, so Srimad-Bhagavatam is the greatest of all Puranas. It is said that, "If someone left his body in Kashi then he is liberated and the reason behind it is when people die Lord Shiva goes and chant Krishna's holy name in their ear." I am sharing a very nic

How to Live a balanced Life

Until and unless we do not keep our life balanced we cannot live a happy life. Yesterday I met one of my office friend after a long time. I was talking with him and asked about what is going on in his life, in reply he said as usual nothing new. He started telling me his entire story, how his focus was only to earn money and now he has sufficient money, but now he is looking for suitable partner and he is unable to find it. He was looking little worried and he asked me what to do now? I said look my friend, "Everything in life needs balanced, if you keep only focus on one side then definitely other side will be disturbed."  But whatever happened just let it be, but from now onwards you can start from a new beginning. I told him,  now you have enough money and you can take off from work and go with your family somewhere, where you can be with them and they can also understand your needs and tell them everything this way there will be some solutions for it. He agreed and

Why God appears in this world?

There are so many confusions in this world, many people do not believe in existence of God and many chose their own God as a human being and Prabhupada used to say, if someone says, I am God, he is not God but Dog simply barking. And some people who have little faith in God, but have confusion, Does God also take birth like us? I am sharing a small story of Akbar and Birbal. Akbar always used to taunt Birbal about God and once he asked to Birbal, "Birbal, you say your God is so powerful and he is capable to do everything sitting at one place, so why He need to appears in this world to protect His devotees." Birbal smiled and replied, "My dear lord, I will give you the answer of it but not now." One day Akbar with his son were crossing the river from the boat, when the boat reached in the middle of the river Birbal suddenly pushed Akbar's son from the boat and seeing this Akbar immediately jumped into the river and saved his son. Akbar was fully angry fo

Learning Lessons from Mother Sumitra

In this world mother and child relationship is above all the relations. The foremost responsibility of a mother is to place her child in a proper Krishna Consciousness environment by which he/she becomes pure devotee of the Lord. Often mothers blame for their children, they are not behaving well and they don't respect them at all but the reason behind this is how much we are doing for them. Being a parent means to sacrifice for children. In modern age mother has no time to care of her children and think they can give all kinds of facilities by just giving money. And when the child grows up and by the time he/she do not get the association of mother and teachings they become free to do what they want to do. Mother means to care for her children what they need and give love and teach them how to love and respect others. And if we think we just send our children to schools/colleges and they will be perfect in all so they cannot. Its the duty of the mother to give valuable time

The Real Meaning of Valentines Day

Yesterday I was hearing H.H. Radhanath Swami Maharaj where he very beautifully explained about the real meaning of Valentines Day and it's not actually Valentines Day but Saint Valentines Day. "Saint Valentines day is all about for a religious person is giving up everything, being willing to undergo torture and killing in the service of the lord. That’s what Valentines day means to a vaisnava, or to a devotee." - HH Radhanath Swami We all celebrate this day and it's very special for us, we eagerly await for this day, but do we know the exact meaning of this day? Actually, nobody knows the reality of it. There was one Rome Saint called Saint Valentines who was against this so called love and try to explain people if you love someone better you marry with her and be loyal to her. Actually, Saint Valentines was very much impressed about Indian culture and traditions of one women, marriage and he studied a lot on it and said to his people if you want to keep woman

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati - A Lion Guru

Today we are celebrating the appearance day of the most important personality of the Gaudiya Vaishnava community Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati, who was also known as Saraswati Thakur, he appeared in the holy place of Jagannath Puri in the year 1874. When he was born, his umbilical cord was wrapped around him exactly as a brahmana thread decorates those who are twice born, which is a very rare and special phenomenon. And at his birth when people saw this they were very much astonished. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati was not an ordinary person and he has done a lot for our Vaishnava Community as well for our Nation. He was very brilliant in His childhood, He memorized all 700 shlokas of Bhagwad Gita at the age of 5 years only. If we see His only top 5 qualities and try to learn a lesson from it our life will be successful. 1. Determination: When He was child He ate mango without offering to the Lord and seeing this His father Srila Bhak

Be Humble - Time can change everything

When we get name, fame and power we puffed by the false ego and become arrogant to the people and think no one is greater than me. But our history says, who were arrogant, time has collapsed all of them. None of us can say, I can beat the time and can go against it. We all are under control of Time as Lord Krishna has already stated in the Bhagwad Gita (I am the time and eveything is under my control). But due to our false ego we do not accept this fact become arrogant with other people instead of becoming humble with them. Who was "King of Good times" now became "King of bad times", so easily we can understand time make us King or Beggar. So we should be always being humble with the people in our Good times and take blessings from them for our bad times, but we do exactly opposite of it, we become arrogant in Good times and seek for blessings in our bad times. But what is the use of it, when you hurt someone, you lose sympathy from that person's heart.

What happens is always good for us

Most of the time we blame to the person, God and situation if something wrong happened with us, but everything happens in our life for good. If you have faith in God, you will realize that everything in life does happen for a reason and Life does not happen to you but it happen for you. If God is not giving what you want, may be he has some better plans for you. Have patience, faith and tolerate that situation. If you just observe your life carefully, there is something or the other positive in it. You may not get the positive results or you may not see the positivity at that particular point of time. But later on, definitely you will say that it was good. God may be trying to show the different world or a new world where you can grow and explore yourself. He knows, in which situation we can perform well, where we can adjust or where we can excel ourselves. But we think we are smarter than God and we can plan well. As human being we think God has power but no brain instead we

Power of Association

We can judge a person by his association because a person accepts good or bad quality only by the association, that is the reason our scripture always remind us to choose our association very wisely. There is one saying, " संग लेना है तो अच्छा संग लीजिये क्योंकि सुनार का कचरा भी बनिए के बादाम से महंगा होता है   ". If we are in good association and going to do something bad, people associated with us will stop us to do such thing and in Kaliyuga association has only power to save us from all kind of dangers and misdirection. I am going to share you one of the story of great legend personality King Bharata the son of Rishabhdeva (incarnation of Lord Krishna). Bharata Maharaja was known for his austerity, detachment and kind hearted person although he was a great King. He took renunciation at very early age from his umpire and went for austerity in forest and started living a life of sage. One day while he was taking bath in River Gandaki, He saw a female dear drin

Lord Nityananda- The Ocean of Mercy

Most of the people might not be aware of Lord Nityananda because He is more popular in the Gaudiya Vaishnav community. Today is Nityananda Trayodashi, the appearance day of Lord Nityananda. He appeared 500 years ago to help the Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's mission and meet with Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Sridham Mayapur. Those day's Vedic culture and devotional activities were almost gone and people were too much addicted in rituals. Adwaitacharya praised to Lord Vishnu and Lord Vishnu pleased with him and appeared in most lovable incarnation as Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and along with Him his brother Nityananda. Lord Nityananda, in his previous incarnations appeared as Lord Balarama, the beloved brother of Sri Krishna, and as Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Rama. Lord Sri Krishna descended in Kali Yuga as Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the golden avatar, to deliver the people of this age through Sankirtan, the congregational chanting. Although Lord Chaitanya Mahapra

How to accept Tough Situations in Life

Sometimes by the false ego we do forget our real value and puffed up by the wealth, power and beauty. But one thing we do not know when the time goes against us then nothing is going to help even our money, strength and beauty. So, how to deal with that situation if there is tough time comes in our life, some people never accept the reality and move on and finally they lose everything but the person who change himself as per the situation can back to his life once again. So, there is a nice story on this I am going to share with you. Once King Indra puffed up with his fame, wealth and strength and disrespect to Durvasha Muni. Durvasha Muni is known for His anger and He immediately cursed Indra to lose his power and fame. Once Demons got to know this they attacked on Indra and Indra escape himself from war and hide himself. When Indra along with the Demigods went to Lord Vishnu for help, Lord Vishnu said to Indra, "My dear Indra, you demigods have lost your strength by t

Enthusiasm, Perseverance, and Determination is the key to success

Srila Rupa Goswami has mentioned in Updeshamrita, one who follow the process of Bhakti Yoga with full-hearted enthusiasm, perseverance, and determination by following the prescribed duties in the association of devotees and by engaging completely in activities of goodness will be guaranteed success. So here we are talking about Enthusiasm, Perseverance, and Determination. To do anything in our life we must be Enthusiastic if we are not, then there is one saying, God helps those who help themselves. If we help ourselves, then definitely Krishna will also help us. If we are fully determined to achieve anything and put our hundred percent effort on it, then sure we get success and for this must keep our faith strong. There is one story I am going to share with you. There was a Sparrow, she laid her eggs on the shore of the ocean. After some time when she came, she saw that there is no eggs, the Ocean carried away the eggs on its waves. The Sparrow asked for her eggs from the oc

Vedic Civilization

Modern Science forces us not to believe in God and Vedic knowledge and try to follow the only scientific way of Civilization that is Godless Civilization. Today we can see science is developing more and more and giving us so many facilities which makes us lazy as well as dull. The day is not far when we will be living a lifestyle where we will only dealing with machines instead of human being. But we forgot one thing where one side science has more development and other side there are more stress and anxiety in the society. Why it is happening so? Development means to make ourselves happy, but more we away from Vedic Civilization more our life will be stressful. In the modern age, we forgot to respect of Women, Children, Brahmanas, Cows, and Old Age people and living a life where we are not considering them to be valuable. But our Vedic scriptures say, Until and unless you won't protect them you cannot build a good society. And this is to be considered if there all fiv

Selfie made us Selfish

Today selfie become more popular and everyone busy into it. I was thinking this selfie is making people more selfish because previously people used to ask someone to take photographs and now, they take it from their own. So, more we become independent more we will be selfish. And this way we all time start thinking about I, Me and Mine but if we see our scriptures it is full of selflessness attitude and it makes us happier than being selfish. More we become selfish more we will be miserable. In modern age our teachings are purely based on being selfish attitude and that's why neither we are happy nor we make others happy. Actually, all the time if we think about ourselves, we become fearful and feel lonely in this world and if we live selfless attitude life, we make ourselves happy as well as other too. I am going to share story about a great Sage Maharshi Dadhichi from their life we can see how He served selflessly to the world and taught us to be selfless and happy.
