Importance of Vedic Education to children

Yesterday during the class one of the parent complains about his children about disobey. I just asked them how much time do you give to your children to teach morality? They had no answer. I told them all the time we only force our children to study and keep motivating them for competete to others and they are doing it well then how can you expect about good behavior and morality if you don't teach them.

If we teach our children Bhagwat Gita and Ramayana, they must be in discipline. So, someone can ask how it can be possible by teaching of Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana. So in one of lecture H. H. Bhakti Vikas Swami Maharaj was telling children are very innocent and they are like new hardisk of compute if we keep uploading good data on our computer hard disk and keep its memory full then there will be no space for bad data to upload, it will reject by saying, "storage is full, there is no memory."

The same way if we keep teaching our children shlokas of Bhagwad Gita either they know or don't know the meaning of it does not matter but it keep their hard disk full with good data so no bad data can harm them. And apart from this if they keep themselves busy in devotional activities, it will work like antivirus it will keep protecting them from outside world.

It is very important that a child learns 'How' to analyze things not only on the outside but also within himself. That is precisely how Vedic Knowledge helps a student grow holistically from the Mind, Body and Soul.

In all the schools, colleges and universities, and at home, all children and youths should be taught to hear about the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In other words, they should be taught to hear the instructions of Bhagavad-Gita, to put them into practice in their lives, and thus to become strong in devotional service, free from fear of being degraded to animal life. Following Bhagavata-dharma has been made extremely easy in this Age of Kali.

Kids need to be disciplined and in order to cultivate good disciplines in them; they should first understand the values of life. They should develop the capabilities to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong and keep themselves away from the bad things. They should be motivated towards taking the right decisions in life. The teachings of the Bhagwad Gita and Ramayana can have far reaching effects on the minds of the kids.

We can see how Prahalada Maharaja in very early age (at the age of 5) he started his devotial service and uplifted the societies of demons. In Srimad Bhagwatam 7.6.1. Prahalada Maharaja explained to his school friends the benefit of learning scriptures and start devotional service in very early age.

श्रीप्रह्राद उवाच
कौमार आचरेत्प्राज्ञो धर्मान्भागवतानिह ।
दुर्लभं मानुषं जन्म तदप्यध्रुवमर्थदम् ॥ १ ॥

Prahalada Maharaja said: One who is sufficiently intelligent should use the human form of body from the very beginning of life — in other words, from the tender age of childhood — to practice the activities of devotional service, giving up all other engagements. The human body is most rarely achieved, and although temporary like other bodies, it is meaningful because in human life one can perform devotional service. Even a slight amount of sincere devotional service can give one complete perfection.
