Learning Lessons from Mother Sumitra

In this world mother and child relationship is above all the relations. The foremost responsibility of a mother is to place her child in a proper Krishna Consciousness environment by which he/she becomes pure devotee of the Lord.

Often mothers blame for their children, they are not behaving well and they don't respect them at all but the reason behind this is how much we are doing for them.

Being a parent means to sacrifice for children. In modern age mother has no time to care of her children and think they can give all kinds of facilities by just giving money. And when the child grows up and by the time he/she do not get the association of mother and teachings they become free to do what they want to do.

Mother means to care for her children what they need and give love and teach them how to love and respect others. And if we think we just send our children to schools/colleges and they will be perfect in all so they cannot. Its the duty of the mother to give valuable time to their children and keep everything aside and talk to them nicely teach them Bhagwad Gita, Ramayana etc so they can undrstand the value of it in their life and before committing any sin they think about their parents.

But for mother also has to read all these scriptures and understand the essence of it instead of busy in Gossips, Tvs and internet.

I know many of the mothers who left their highly paying job to just to care of their children.

Prabhupada always used to tell in his lectures, house wife should be M.Sc not master of science, but Master in Sabji and Chapati and their primary duty is to take care of their husband and children and Husband duty is to give all kind of facilities to his wife and children.

Mother is said to be the first Guru in life. She is the first teacher of the child. To become a perfect teacher and a perfect Krishna conscious mother one must learn the teachings of Mother Sumitra. Sumitra was the third queen of Maharaj Dashratha and a mother of great children- Lakshamana and Shatrughna.

When the Lord Rama was ordered for exile from Mother Kaikeyi He was about to leave Ayodhya as soon as possible. Hearing this Laxmana said to Rama, "My dear brother, I am also coming along with you." But Lord Rama explained Laxmana to stay in Ayodhya and serve mothers and Maharaj Dasratha but Laxmana holds Lord Rama's lotus feet and started begging to give me permission to come along with you. Lord Rama agreed and told but you should take permission from your mother first.

Laxmana happily entered into his mother's palace and asked permission to go with Lord Rama. Mother Sumitra told to Laxmana, "My dear son, do you think I am going to stop you to go with Rama, and that is what I have taught to you? Why you came to me to waste your time, you should have immediately gone along with Rama."

Mother Sumitra who gave his son in the service of Lord Rama and wanted Lord Rama to be happy, so all the time Lord Rama was taking care of Laxmana but other side, we see Kaikeyi who wanted her son to be the king and exiled Lord Rama, she even loses her own son.

In this world, only that woman is fit to be called a mother whose son is the devotee of Rama, otherwise it would have been better if she were incapable of giving birth to a son”- Mother Sumitra(in Sri Ramacharitmanasa, Ayodhya Kanda)

Children are like a small seed and they need proper nourishment to grow up with love, care and affection of a mother. If mother failed to do so then she should never blame to her child.

Nectar in the beginning but Poison in end

He was young and belonging from rich family, he entered into the compartment and seated next to me.  Long and stylist hair, branded watch on wrist, iPhone in hand but he was loosing his control. Started abusing someone on phone and shouting out very louder, people was looking at him.  He was fully drunken and started vomiting, people thrown out him out of train and he slayed down at platform. Story is not over yet, I was thinking is this our modern education we are providing to our children and in the name of facilities we are giving them huge money, branded gadgets, but being an guarding do we ever try to esquire what they do and, which type of association they keep?  Once these things comes in their hands they start thinking, no one is greater than me and due to false ego they disrespect elder people.  But one thing they forget, disrespecting elder people only harmful to them because elderly people only teach them morality and good lesson.
