Holi - Spiritual Success over material Success

We see majority people try to get material success and they can go to any extent to get it. But develop envy, depression, and many more things to maintain our success if someone try to compete with us. But we see, how much we try to get material success that much we make our life miserable and unhealthy and always keep our-self in fear, what will happen if I lose all these? Today definition of material success is cut throat competition, how we  can deceit people and make our-self success and one day we see we are not even happy after getting those success. But spiritual success is exactly opposite, how much we get it that much we become humble, tolerable and respect others. In Shikshaashtkam Lord Chaitnya Mahaprabhu wrote,  One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and should be ready to offer all respect to others. In such a s

Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu the most merciful person on the earth

Most of the people may not be aware of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, but He is known to be most merciful person on the earth specially in the age of Kali. We are going to celebrate Gaur Purnima festival (appearance day of Sri Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) on 28th of Falgun month. Lord Chaitanya was appeared about 500 years ago in west bengal Navdweip Mayapur in vaishnva Brahmin family as son of Sri Jagannath Mishra and Sachimata. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born under the neem tree so His childhood name was Nimai. Nimai was very scholar from the childhood and at the age of 12 He started his own school to teach grammar to children. Nimai is none other than Lord Krishna himself, he appeared in the age of Kali to give Krishna's love to most fallen soul.  In this iron Age of Kali men almost always have but short lives. They are quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky and, above all, always disturbed. So after seeing this Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared and started giving love of Krishna t

Enjoyment Propensity gives us only pain

We all are trying to get enjoyment from any objects or person in this material world. But we forget one thing when we try to enjoy then we get caught into clutches of illusion and we get only pain rather than pleasure. We see here from example of an fish, there are so many fishes in the river but few fishes prefer to stay in deep of the water and few fishes try to enjoy on surface of the water. When fishes comes on the surface of the water, they feel very relaxed and enjoy jumping on the surface of the water. Very soon a fish catcher comes on bank of the river and put hook inside the water with earthworm and wait outside to catch the fish. When fish sees earthworm she immediately attract through it and comes in the contact of it and put her mouth to grab it and she immediately trapped, fish catcher immediately pull fish outside and catch. Here is the learning lesson to all of us, fishes floating on surface water  is our enjoyment propensity and hook is illusion which attracts us to gra

Benefits of Rising early

It is said that, Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy wealthy and wise.   This statement is very much true and make impact on our lives, in current age people are very much following the western culture as eating late, watching TV while going to sleep and waking up after sun rise. There are still many people who stay in village sleep early and get up early at 4 a.m they took bath do some daily sadhana (austerity)  and go for their regular work and that's the reason they feel refreshed whole day. But majority city people think, sleeping late and waking up late is a sign of advancement but if we see the results of this bad habits more than 75 percent of people are suffering from dangerous diseases. Here we are going to see what benefits we get when we wake up early: 1. No laziness: It has been proven person who wakes up in Brahma Muhurta between 4.30 to 5 a. m  feel fresh whole day it is just because Brahma Muhurta gives lots of energy and power to our Body and Mind

The Grass looks greener on the other Side

When we start growing our mind start comparing from others, what others have and we don't have. From the Childhood to old age we wish to have things what we don't have but we forgot to value those things which we have but others don't have. We all are individual and God has gifted every individual with unique potency and that is why every one has some unique gift provided by the God. But in the modern education and culture, we always prefer what others have, whether it is beneficial or not does not matter. We should remember what God has given us is perfect and very much suitable for us, but if we try to alter it as per our own will and wish we will have to face more trouble in our life. In Srimad Bhagwatam there is a story of King Chitraketu who was a great and pious king but he was very much upset from his life as he was having no son although from many wives. He asked boon from a great sage to have son but in reply sage told, you will get your son but the same son give y

Disappearance day of Srila Jagnnatha Dasa Babaji Maharaja!

In history of Gaudiya Vaishnava Srila Jagannatha Dasa Babaji Maharaja is the one who searched holy birth place of Nimai (Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) Incaranation of Lord Krishna in Kali (about 500 years ago in west Bengal NAVDIPA). At the age of 135 years Srila Jagannath Dasa Babaji used to go outside to preach of LORD Chaitanya Mahaprabhu message. Once Babaji Maharaja was on the banks of the Ganges, living under a makeshift canvas tent. Nearby that place there lived a dog with five puppies.  Whenever Babaji Maharaja would take Prasada, the dogs would come around and lick the food from his plate.  When Bihari dasa caught hold of one of the dogs to drive it off, Babaji Maharaja told him: 'Bihari! If you wish to drive these dogs off, you may take my plate away as well.  I shall not eat today.' When Bihari complained, 'But guru maharaja - these dogs are unclean!' Babaji Maharaja remarked, 'No. These dogs are residents of the holy Dhama. You may not abuse them.' On th

Glorification of Lord Shiva

Today we are celebrating Maha Shivratri the auspicious occasion of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati marriage day.  There are many misconception about Lord Shiva in people. Many people thinks Lord Shiva is involved in intoxication and we as a follower of Lord Shiva also have as prasadam of Lord Shiva. But in the Vedas it is no where mentioned Lord Shiva involved in intoxication instead He always busy in chanting the Holy names of Lord Krishna. No one as pure as Lord Shiva when it comes as an Vaishnvas of Lord Krishna. There are three major qualities in Lord Shiva as: 1. Compassionate: He is very compassionate towards all living entities i. e. He drunk poison from churning ocean.  2. Always busy in chanting holy name: We see Lord Shiva always keep Himself busy in chanting holy name of Lord Krishna instead of doing anything else. It shows that He has no other important task than chanting holy name. 3. Help in Devotional service: As Lord Shiva's another name is Ashutosh which means He ple

Science or our Vedic scripture, on whom we should keep our faith?

There was one class teacher teaching to children, she was telling a story of a person whom a snake bit and he felt unconsciousness. People quickly took him to a village temple where priest chanted mantra and quickly person got relief and woke up. Finally after finishing the class, teacher asked few questions to children. What do you think? Do the mantras act against the snake's poison? Do you think snake was poisonous and credit goes to priest to get out of the snake poison?  Whole class was silent but one intelligent boy stood and replied to teacher. Yes, teacher mantra has more power than medicine, because when some times we hear doctor says now I have no control on this patient, you pray to Lord, He can only save his life. It indicates that even a good doctor has full faith on prayers and mantra than advanced medicines. Yes teacher, I think credit goes to priest rather than thinking snake was possession or not, because sometimes we go to doctor and even without taking medicine w

Nectar in the beginning but Poison in end

He was young and belonging from rich family, he entered into the compartment and seated next to me.  Long and stylist hair, branded watch on wrist, iPhone in hand but he was loosing his control. Started abusing someone on phone and shouting out very louder, people was looking at him.  He was fully drunken and started vomiting, people thrown out him out of train and he slayed down at platform. Story is not over yet, I was thinking is this our modern education we are providing to our children and in the name of facilities we are giving them huge money, branded gadgets, but being an guarding do we ever try to esquire what they do and, which type of association they keep?  Once these things comes in their hands they start thinking, no one is greater than me and due to false ego they disrespect elder people.  But one thing they forget, disrespecting elder people only harmful to them because elderly people only teach them morality and good lesson. And being an elder person and parent we shou

Most of the people now a days are working so hard to maintain their body, but they forgot about their soul. Srila Bhakti Sidhdhanta Thakura quotes here, if we are physically unfit but even engaged in the service of Lrod Krishna is far better than being healthy and engaged in mundane activities. Too much care of physical body is like caring of cage more than parrot insid
