When we start growing our mind start comparing from others, what others have and we don't have. From the Childhood to old age we wish to have things what we don't have but we forgot to value those things which we have but others don't have.
We all are individual and God has gifted every individual with unique potency and that is why every one has some unique gift provided by the God.
But in the modern education and culture, we always prefer what others have, whether it is beneficial or not does not matter.
We should remember what God has given us is perfect and very much suitable for us, but if we try to alter it as per our own will and wish we will have to face more trouble in our life.
In Srimad Bhagwatam there is a story of King Chitraketu who was a great and pious king but he was very much upset from his life as he was having no son although from many wives.
He asked boon from a great sage to have son but in reply sage told, you will get your son but the same son give you pleasure and pain both.
King Chitraketu thought, still I am suffering, what more suffering I would get from my son.
When King Chitraketu got son, others queens started feeling jeleous and they mixed poison in milk and kill the son of King Chitraketu.
Hearing this King Chitraketu got mad and then great sage Narada appeared and told King Chitraketu to calm down.
So, here we can see a person has his own life he has nothing to do with others life when it comes to comparisons. One has to be happy what he has received in his life as an gift of God, otherwise we are always in benefit as we have not brought anything.
