When Srila Pabhupada met with Srila BhaktiSiddhanta Sarswati Thakura his spiritual master, Srila BhaktiSiddhanta Sarswati Thakura ordred Srila Prabhupada to preach in foreign country because you are intelligent and very good in English. Srila Pabhupada took Srila BhaktiSiddhanta Sarswati Thakura instructions very seriousely because Gurus are not an ordinary person, they are representative of God comes in this material world to help living entities like us. After taking initiation from Srila BhaktiSiddhanta Sarswati Thakura Srila Pabhupada met only 2-3 times with his spiritual master. But when Srila BhaktiSiddhanta Sarswati Thakura left his body and go home back to godhead, Srila Prabhupada started thinking of his mission about go to foreign country and preach. After so many years of failure, no money, no homes, staying at Vrindavan Dham living a very simple life he asked for donations from many people, business man, politicians but no one helped Srila Prabhupada. Hanuman Jayanti - Appearance Day of Hanumanji

Tomorrow we are going to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti. As we all know Hanuman ji is a great devotee of Lord Rama and Lord Rama also love Hanuman Ji very much. That is one reason there is no temple of Lord Rama without Hanuman. It is said that, if you want to serve Lord Rama then you have to serve Hanuman Ji first. Without Hanuman ji sanction we can never reach to Lord Rama. Although Hanuman ji is gifted by 8 Siddhis (Super Power) by mother Sita but still he never puffed with all those things. That is the reason no one can take place of Hanuman Ji. There is one story about how much Hanuman ji is dear to Lord Rama. Once Lord Rama was reading names of His devotees, who love Lord Rama very much. All sudden, Hanuman ji jumped and started turning the page from start to end and did not find his name, he felt very sorry and asked Lord Rama, "My dear master, I thought there must be my name somewhere in this list but I am very unfortunate." Lord Rama smiled and told Hanuman JI, My dear Ha

Offering to His Holiness Jay Pataka Swami Maharaja

Jayapataka Swami was born as Gordon John Erdman II to Gordon John Erdman and Lorraine Erdman (Golich). He attended Brown University. There, as a fresh enrolled, he was influenced by a guest lecture on the life of Buddha that he lost all interest in his studies and began searching for a spiritual teacher. After some time of searching he concluded he would have to go to India to find his teacher. Before leaving for India, Gordon (JPS) came across some Hare Krishna devotees, doing kirtan and distributing Back To Godhead magazine. Shortly after he visited the San Francisco ISKCON center, where he met Jayananda das who introduced him to the Ratha Yatra. His first service in ISKCON was to help build the Ratha Cart. From there he travelled to Montreal, Quebec, Canada where he met Srila Prabhupada. John took first initiation in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and was given the name 'Jayapataka Dasa'. Want to know your biggest enemy?

In this world people may think, my boss is my biggest enemy, my neighbor is my biggest enemy, person who don't follow my order is my biggest enemy or opposite country is my biggest enemy. But in Bhagwad Gita Lord Krishna says to Arjuna, My dear Arjuna there are no enemies outside, but it is inside us and explain the biggest enemy to Arjuna in the form of Lust. In Bhagwad Gita 3.37, Lord Krishna says; श्री भगवानुवाच काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भ‍वः । महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम् ॥ 3.37 ॥ The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world. And now the question is what is lust? Lust can be any form i.e. unwanted sense gratification, sense pleasing object, unwanted desires and many more things. It comes through when we comes under the mode of passion. In the modes of passion lust increases more, that is why Lord Kr

Mother Sita- Eternal consort of Lord Ramachandra

The whole Ramayana is based on mother Sita, and mother Sita is none other than a manifestation of the goddess of fortune, Lakshmi Devi, is the eternal consort of Lord Ramachandra. People say, Ravana kidnapped mother Sita but Ravana who was failed to lift the bow which was suppose to lift to marry mother Sita by his father King Janaka. How can he lift mother Sita? When mother Sita was only 6 years old, she was playing with their friends and lifted that Bow by her left hand very easily, which around 500 people use to lift that bow. We can understand the power of Mother Sita, she is not an ordinary woman. We see when Ravana try to convince mother Sita by his wealth, power and umpire, mother Sita rejects everything and told Ravana, you are like a deer and Lord Sri Rama is like a lion and there is no comparison in you and Lord Sri Rama better you just return me to original place if you don;t want to damage your empire. Mother Sita was convinced and have full faith on Lord Rama, he will sure

Hanuman- The real Super Hero

In this world most of the people only knows about artificial super heroes named, Spider Man, Super Man, Batman, Iron Man and many more but actually they are not aware of the real super heroes who is none other than Hanuman. If we see the life of Hanuman Ji we get to know, Hanuman ji was not so powerful but also a very humble devotee of Lord Rama. In this world if people get power they think they are only controller of this world, but we see Hanuman ji was having so much power but always looking to serve Lord Rama without showing his own identity. One more thing we see from life of Hanuman ji, he was not only powerful but intelligent too, most of the people in this world either they have power or intelligence they can not have both. When Hanuman ji cross the ocean to search for mother Sita, Mountain Mainak comes in his way to take rest but Hanuman ji respect Mainak and move.  When he move further they meet with Surasa, and Surasa was benedicted by Lord Brahma, any person who cross you h

Shatrughna - The Killer of False Ego

In Ramayana, Shatrughna  is character known as killer of enemies. Now, one may ask are you joking with us? He didn't go to fight with Lord Rama and even he fought so many wars then how come he is Killer of enemies? Yes, that's true Shatrughna  only killed one demon Lavdasur (which was not so ordinary), then killing one demon how can he be the greatest killer of enemies? If we see from the life of Lavdasur, he was not the ordinary demon, his father Madhu was so powerful and devoted to Lord Shiva. He was very powerful and egoistic person. And Shatrughna killed him very easily. Shatrughna is the killer of our false ego as demon Lavdasur represents to false ego. False ego is our biggest enemy of all, and then can be removed if pray to Shatrughna. There are many people who live with false ego but unaware of it,  Shatrughna is the one who removes the false ego from our heart and purify us to the service of Lord Rama. Because only the person who is clean heart can serve Lord Rama. Jai

Bharata - A Symbol of Unconditional Tolerance

In Ramayan, Bharata is the only character who tolerated more than required. People may say in this world, there is a limit of tolerance and up to one extent it is enough to tolerate. But if we see from the life of Bharata how much he tolerated, we see our tolerance is nothing in comparison to them. When mother Kaikeyi asked King Dasratha for boons, forest for fourteen years for Lord Rama, and his son Bharata to be the King of Ayodhya. King Dasratha left his body because he was very much attached to Lord Rama and he was unable to bear the separation from Lord Rama. When Bharata come back to Ayodhya and people of Ayodhya started doubting on Bharata he is the one who sent Lord Rama to exile. He is the main culprit.  Bharata went to mother Kaushalya, mother Kaushalya refused to talk to him, he went to all sages they all turned their faces from Bharata. They all thought he is the one who made plan to exile Lord Rama for kingdom.  Now, Bharata thought there is at least one person who can und

Laxmana - The Hidden Hero of Ramayana

In our previous post we have already mentioned Ramayna is not an ordinary story but a complete learning lesson from each & every characters. Laxmana is one of the character of Ramayana, who was completely hide himself to glorify from others, and away from honor and dishonor. Laxmana teaches us how to maintain character, competency, selfless service, and equal in both the situation either you are praised or you are abused. If you have fixed your aim, then there is no question of disturbance what people say to you. But when we get into the deep of Ramayana and see the value of Laxmana, We see he was the hero after Lord Rama in the whole story. Laxmana represents  who carry out Laxmi with him and serve Lord Rama by his good will. Laxmana always eager to serve Lord Rama, when Lord Rama was about to go for exile for fourteen years Laxmana immediately stood up & ready to go along with Lord Rama although he was not asked to go to exile. Laxmana took vow, he will not sleep for fourteen

Mother Sabri - A symbol of faith and patience

Ramayana has full learning lesson to a human society. Every character in Ramayana teaches us lesson which we can carry out in our heart and makes our life successful.  But unfortunately we just hear Ramayana as a story and that is the reason there is no transformation in our heart. There are majorly three types of hearing; through ears, through mind and through our heart. And the best hearing is through our heart, if we hear anything through our heart it must change our heart and makes us a different personality. Mother Sabri, she was the disciple of Sage Matanga and serving her spiritual master. When Sage Matanga decided to leave the earthly planet and went to Lord's abode among through his disciples. He saw mother Sabri's devotion towards Lord Rama, he told mother Sabri to stay here, one day Lord Rama will surety come to see you. Even other sages and saints kept laughing on mother Sabri thinking she is absolutely mad. We are doing such a austerity and penance we are not even

What is the benefits of hearing Lord Rama's Pastimes?

Being a human we always try to engage our-self in hearing something to please our mind and senses. But in this material world there is nothing which gives to our ear our heart a permanent pleasure which we are looking for since long time. We love to hear something for sometime but after sometimes we feel bored and change to something else, and it keeps on changing and we never satisfied. And there are many subjects to hear, politics, sports, gossips and entertainment but we don't get anything as a result but few moment of pleasure. Now the question is, so what should we hear to satisfy our mind and senses and always satisfied. The Answer is, Glories of Lord Rama. If we hear pastimes of Lord Rama we don't need to hear anything else and there are two major benefits we get out of it: 1. Cleanses of our heart: Lord Rama's pastimes is not an ordinary pastimes like we see in the material world. It is considered as a Lion in the forest, when Lion comes into the forest all other a

In the form of human Lord always remains Lord

Many so called modern educated people think Ramayana is a mythical story and few says, Lord Rama was an ordinary person like us. But Lord Krishna says in Bhagwad Gita, how people comes to me I reciprocate them accordingly. So people who try to to prove I do not exist I give them the same intelligence, there is no existence of Mine. In the form of a human being when Lord Rama descends Himself on earth, most people considered them as normal human but Lord remain always Lord although whatever form He take. Will see from many incident how Lord Rama prove His power as supreme personality of Godhead. 1. Incident of Jayanta: Jayanta son of heaven king Indra, took form of a crow when he saw mother Sita and Lord Rama and thought they are ordinary couple. And he tried to misbehave with mother Sita, Lord Rama just threw a blade of grass towards him. Jayant went to all places but no one could save him and then finally he surrendered to Lord Rama then Lord Rama forgive him by damaging his one eye.

God doesn't need our money

Most of the people complain regarding building big-big temples, celebrating big festivals on Lord, asking donation from people on auspicious occasion of Janmashtmi, Sri Rama Navmi etc. They claim, why God need money, we can simply just pray from our heart nothing to with money to worship God.  But the same time if they have to go for a movie, to watch sports or go for a big mall for shopping and spent lots of money and charged too much but without even thinking of much they pay it very easy. I simply narrated one story of a child and his son. There was a father and his small son, one day when his father come from his work and sit with his son. Son told his father, my dear father I want to give you some money, please keep it with you it will help you in future. His father smiled on his son for his childish behavior but accepted his coin and took him in his lap. Father knows it very well, this coin given by his son is given by him only but for his son's love and affection he accepted

Lord Rama - A complete personality

In India even a small kid know something about Lord Rama so what to speak of an old person. But due to influence of Kali we are going away from our Vedic scriptures and showing our interest more into web series and other things. But Lord Rama is so merciful He even want to deliver the most fallen soul, that is the reason when a person die, people chant, "Rama Naam satya hai - only the Lord Rama name is truth. There reason behind this is, people should aware that there is nothing beyond Lord Rama name and they pray to Lord Rama to deliver the departed soul. Here we are going to see few qualities of Lord Rama: 1. Obedient :  Lord Rama is most obedient to His father, that was the reason even Kaikeyi on behalf of King Dasratha told to Lord Rama for 14 years of exile He agreed and accepted very easily without any single argument. 2. Responsible: When Lord Rama was about to leave for exile, mother Sita asked to Lord Rama I am also coming along with you. Lord Rama took mother Sita alo

Why we need spiritual power?

Often when we meet people they majorly ask one question, why do we need spiritual power if we have enough material power in our life? Yes, that's true we have enough material power but still we lack of something in our life and we always try to search for it. Material power gives us pleasure but for short time and after that we lose it and we feel unsatisfied.  Actually internally we are spiritual (as soul) but externally we are material (in the form of body). How much we try to keep our-self happy  from outside but until and unless we will not keep our-self happy from within, our all effort goes in vain. That is the reason people who are materially very powerful but still they feel hollow from inside. That's is why we need spiritual power. Here we will see how spiritual power help us to make us happy eternally and life long. 1. It help us to connect our-self to Krishna and understand our eternal nature. We are not here at our original place. 2. We are not the enjoy-er of this

You don't need silver spoon to enjoy good food

In material people are trying to enjoy how sophisticated way they can. But how much we try that much we fill lack of something missing in our life and that is our sanctification. As a human we are trying to achieve more than required for us. Till 2050, we will be completely in new world which will be full of gadgets surround with us. There will be no relations at all, no one would like to take responsibility, no marriage. Male and Female personality will be replaced by computers. Our life will be more based on electronics than emotions and relations. Everything will be automated, car will be driver less, home will be householder less, office will be paper less, communication will be phone less and finally our life will be God less. Apart from all these we will not be happy, because if we take out a fish from a river and give all the facilities to her, what we think will it be happy? No, it will die after some time. Same way our tendency of happiness is only when we connect our-self to
