In Ramayan, Bharata is the only character who tolerated more than required. People may say in this world, there is a limit of tolerance and up to one extent it is enough to tolerate. But if we see from the life of Bharata how much he tolerated, we see our tolerance is nothing in comparison to them.
When mother Kaikeyi asked King Dasratha for boons, forest for fourteen years for Lord Rama, and his son Bharata to be the King of Ayodhya. King Dasratha left his body because he was very much attached to Lord Rama and he was unable to bear the separation from Lord Rama.
When Bharata come back to Ayodhya and people of Ayodhya started doubting on Bharata he is the one who sent Lord Rama to exile. He is the main culprit.
Bharata went to mother Kaushalya, mother Kaushalya refused to talk to him, he went to all sages they all turned their faces from Bharata.
They all thought he is the one who made plan to exile Lord Rama for kingdom.
Now, Bharata thought there is at least one person who can understand to me, and finally he went to King Dasratha palace but there no one he found.
He asked about his father, everyone says your father already told about you not to touch his body.
Bharata understood there is no one in this world who can understand what is in my heart except Lord Rama.
He went to Lord Rama, Lord Rama already told Bharata without even saying Bharata something, "My dear brother, I know you are pure hearten person and there is no fault of yours what had taken place."
In eyes of Bharata tears were flowing continuously, he fell down in the lotus feet of Lord Rama. Lord Rama take Bharata and embrace him.
This is not even sufficient, when Bharata return to Ayodhya he took up a vow I will not stay in Ayodhya till the time Lord Rama will be back to Ayodhya.
He went to Nandigram and dig and make place to stay there, without eating foods and grains, he even did not like to show his face to others as he was thinking himself accused of Lord Rama.
Bharata is the character of Ramayana who teaches us a level of tolerance, more we tolerate more Lord reciprocate to us.
Jai Sri Rama!
