Why Scriptures are important in our life?

One person was debating, I do know everything how to live my life and I am very happy with it, why do I require any guidance from scripture.

I asked him, do you keep your health check regularly?

He replied, Yes! Of course I do.

Then why do you go to doctor to check up your health regularly if you already caring of your diets and other things? I asked him.

He replied, because doctor knows it very well and remind me if something goes wrong in my regular diet and ask me to correct it.

I replied him, same way although we know everything, but when we accept scripture in our life it reminds us time to time when we forget something.

Finally he agreed and accept, yes it is true we can't remember everything at a time but when we read scripture regularly then it reminds us what to do and what not to do.

Srila Prabupada used to quote to their disciples, If you read my books regularly you will never fall down, my books will always protect you.

One should understand the importance of our Vedic Scriptures like Ramayana, Mahabharta, Srimad Bhagwad Gita, Srimad Bhagwatam, Upanishads, Purans any many more. It is not a mythology but an incident which has already took place and mentioned in the form of literature.

Nectar in the beginning but Poison in end
