Which type of Respect you want?

There are people in this world need respect and that is quite natural everyone need some kind of attention in their life but are we aware of which type of respect we are looking for?

There are two types of respect one is by demand due to our position and other is earned by self connection with the people from our core heart.

First type of respect is temporary, the moment you lose your position people will start disrespecting you because that respect was not self earned but due to your position. But self earned respect is when you connect to the people through your heart and there is no position comes between but there is only selfless service to others.

In politics we see sometimes people get arrogant due to their temporary position and demand their respect from the people and people respect him out of fear from their position but the moment they lose their position even a small child do not respect him.

From Ramayana we can see Ravana was trying to earn his respect due to his position and Lord Ram Chandra was getting respect not due to His position but from connection to the people and service attitude that is why we see although Lord Ram Chandra was exiled to forest but still Ayodhyawashi love Him a lot there were no difference being a King of Ayodhya or being a common man in the forest.

Even their love and respect for Lord Ram Chandra was too much we can not express in any words while Lord Ram Chandra was leaving from Ayodhya all men and women followed Him to come along with Him to the forest for fourteen years leaving their family, friends, houses, property aside.

If we see people from Lanka also respected Lord Ram Chandra, when Lord Rama killed Ravana Lanka people comes and greeted Lord Rama but Lord Rama did not accept the position of King instead He offered it to Vibhishana to be the king of Lanka.

Many times we need respect from the people due to our position i.e. I am an engineer, I am a doctor, I am Scholar and I am Beautiful, I am wealthy man, I am very powerful but we should always remember one thing these position are not eternal its temporary it can change at any moment.

A very well example of Bill Clinton the  former US president and Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton was most respected person of US but the moment he caught in the scandal people wanted him to leave from his position as soon as possible.

And if we see from life of Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee the former prime minister of India, even opposition used to respect him whether he was in position or not does not matter.
