Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura - The Living Encyclopedia

Today we are celebrating the auspicious appearance day of His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura the spiritual master of Iskcon founder Acharya His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura gave instructions to Srila Prabhupada, to go and preach Krishna Consciousness in western countries and we can see now in the whole world there are more than 600 temples of Radha and Krishna and more than 50 million people are reading Bhagwad Gita and applying in their life.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura was not an ordinary person, he was very divine from his childhood and at the age of 7 he memorized whole 700 verses of Bhagwad Gita and when he grown up he became learned scholar of Vedic Scriptures, he challenged to Mayawadis and proved Lord has His form, qualities and names He is not formless.

At that time people used to turn their path by just seeing them and call them a Lion Guru. He was very much determined, from his childhood he never ate mango because from one incident when he ate mango before offering to the Lord and when his father Thakura Bhakti Vinod Thakur told, you should offer first to the Lord then eat. And since then he promised I will never eat mango in my life.

There are so many teachings, we can implement in our life to make our life more devotional;

1. Where there is discussion about Hari, that is a place of pilgrimage

2. My advice is, do not criticize others. Try to rectify yourself

3. Our supreme duty is to serve the residents of Vraja who are affected by Krishna‘s departure to Mathura

4. If we want to follow the path of true auspiciousness, we should give up the countless opinions of people and only hear the words of the Vedas

5. Preaching without practicing is nothing but a ritual of karma-kanda

6. In order to teach us how to serve Him, the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself appears as the spiritual master

7. The Lord does not accept anything offered by those who do not chant names of the Lord everyday

8. As long as one has anarthas, one does not receive the good fortune of becoming a servant of Srimati Radharani and Lord Krishna.

9. Being cheated by those who mislead people in the name of hari-katha has become a sort of religion in this age

10. He who is constantly absorbed in discussing about Sri Hari is a saint

Let's pray to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura on this auspicious day to shower his mercy on us to relish taste in Krishna's holy name and pastimes and have a good relationship with devotees.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura ki Jai!

Life is a preparation, death is an examination

We participate in so many exams in our life, and get the results as per our preparation for that exams. But most of the exams we have option, whether to attempt it or not? But there is one exam in our life which we may ignore saying we will see when it would come in our life, but we all have to attempt we don't have any choice, whether we are poor,  rich,  educated or illiterate. Srila Prabhupada used to say, this life is our preparation how we are preparing our-self for coming exam.  Because that exam has no prior time table, no time period, no grace marks, and no cheat sheet allowed. And you may be surprise to know, all our activities are recorded by Yamduta for our each and every moments with evidence. Yes, Yamduta will show your answer sheet and you can review it, whether he has marked you in correct way or not? You are successful, if you are passed your exams but if you are failed then you don't know when you will have to reattempt that exam (it could be after 84 laces bir

Depression vs Satisfaction

There are two types of people live in this world, one who live a satisfied life and one who goes into depression when something goes wrong in their life. A satisfied person can stay happy all the time in any circumstances but a person who looks for sense pleasure and thinks sense objects is going to give happiness to me always goes into depression, if he does not get pleasure from an objects or person. And the secret of satisfactions is to see opportunity in every aspects whether it is success or failure. Many of us become happy when we get success but become sad when failure comes in our life. We must remember one thing, in our life success and failure is not going to stay forever with anyone. A very successful person has to face even failure sometimes in his life. A satisfied person knows it very well, that is why he does not goes in to depression for his failure but he learn from it and move on. A very beautiful quotes by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, "Don't read success stories, yo

Be Humble - Time can change everything

When we get name, fame and power we puffed by the false ego and become arrogant to the people and think no one is greater than me. But our history says, who were arrogant, time has collapsed all of them. None of us can say, I can beat the time and can go against it. We all are under control of Time as Lord Krishna has already stated in the Bhagwad Gita (I am the time and eveything is under my control). But due to our false ego we do not accept this fact become arrogant with other people instead of becoming humble with them. Who was "King of Good times" now became "King of bad times", so easily we can understand time make us King or Beggar. So we should be always being humble with the people in our Good times and take blessings from them for our bad times, but we do exactly opposite of it, we become arrogant in Good times and seek for blessings in our bad times. But what is the use of it, when you hurt someone, you lose sympathy from that person's heart.
