Envy destroy ourselves more than destroying others

There is a saying, If you want to destroy yourself completely, be envious towards others. The person who has envy towards others will never live his life peacefully.

The main reason behind be become envious towards others is, when other person get something and I may not be able to get that things.

But being envious we not only become restless and make our life miserable but we also makes others life miserable too.

When Prajapati Daksha became envious towards Lord Shiva, he organised a big sacrifice but did not invited Lord Shiva due to envy. But Lord Shiva did not felt anything but Mother Sati felt very much insult to Lord Shiva and she jumped into sacrificial fire.

After hearing this Lord Shiva sent to Virbhadra and told to destroy sacrifice and cut Daksha's head. When Lord Shiva pacified by Lord Brahma he gave Daksha a head of Goat.

But the moral of the story is Envy destroy us more than others. We only experience the pain and harming more to us than to other person.

What is the check point whether I am envious or not and how we can be envy free?

1. Being non envious of other people If another person is successful we should be never be envious

2. We should act as well wishers of the success people

3. To establishment a competition less society with God in center and think every one is child of God

We can be envy free when we think, when Krishna is not giving me something then Krishna has plan behind it may be I don't deserve it or may be He has another plan for me. Not everything every person get in his life.

If Lord Krishna is my well wishers and others well wishers then why should I be envious of other person.

It is mentioned in Srimad Bhagwatam, if we hear glories of Lord Rama Chandra we become envy free. As we see from Lord Rama's pastimes He never shown envy towards others even towards Ravana although he was His biggest enemy. So if we hear and pray to Lord Rama we can free our-self from envy.
