What to do with this restless Mind?

We sleep or we are in awaking state does not matter, our restless mind keep moving here and there and never sit idle.

In Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna says to Arjuna, "Mind is our best friend and worst enemy. So now the question is how can it be our Good friend? and how can we train it to work in right direction?

In Bhagwad Gita 6.34, Arjuna explain about the nature of our Mind;

चञ्चलं हि मन: कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्दृढम् ।

तस्याहं निग्रहं मन्ये वायोरिव सुदुष्करम् ॥ 6.34 ॥

The mind is restless, turbulent, obstinate and very strong, O Kṛiṣhṇa, and to subdue it, I think, is more difficult than controlling the wind.

and in reply Lord Krishna says to Ajruna, how can we control to out mind in next verse.

श्रीभगवानुवाच

असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् ।

अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते ॥ 6.35 ॥

Lord Sri Krishna said: O mighty-armed son of Kuntī, it is undoubtedly very difficult to curb the restless mind, but it is possible by suitable practice and by detachment.

There is a saying, Practice makes a man perfect. If one practice to control his mind by proper way of meditation then surely our mind will be under our control one day.

First of all let's see by one example how our mind works. Suppose you want to book the ticket and visit site and suddenly you see a popup comes in front of you with a beautiful smiling lady, you immediately click on that picture and go to that website there you see so many photos of that lady and you keep browsing that photos and after sometimes you realize, oh my God, what about my ticket?

And when you back to check your ticket, it's already booked there is no ticket, you feel guilty and say why I clicked that picture?

If you see there was option with popup, to minimize, to close or to maximize. An intelligent person immediately close that popup thinking it's only waste my time, but few of them will minimize to check later and most of the people click immediately to see what is there?

So, it's up to us how we train our mind and where we keep our mind busy there our mind will go all the times.

So in the age of hectic and busy schedule our mind is always upset due to influence of bad people, bad musics, bad movies and bad surroundings.

Only good things we can do is in this age, if we chant holy names of Lord loudly it will cleanse our mind and purify our heart, there is no other alternative.
