Happy Balrama Jayanthi and Raksha Bandhan

Today the most auspicious day Sri Balrama Jayanthi and Raksha Bandhan. In our Vedic civilization every festival has deep meaning and emotional bonding.

Raksha Bandhan the festival where a sister tie a not to his beloved brother and brother give assurance for security of his sister.

Today we are also celebrating appearance day of Lord Balrama. Lord Balarama is none other than Krishna's direct expansion. His only mission is to please Krishna by rendering service to Him, whether it is in the creation of the material worlds, maintaining the spiritual world or as His personal paraphernalia.

Lord Balarama is the eternal companion of Sri Krishna. He came as Lakshmana with Rama and later as Nityananda Prabhu with Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He is the original spiritual master, and any one desiring to make spiritual progress must first get the mercy of Lord Balarama. Directly we cant approach Krishna, only through Balaram we can approach supreme lord Krishna.

Spiritual master represents the true representation of Balaram. Thus by following the instructions of spiritual master and by pleasing him we can get the grace of Krishna.

I share one pastimes of Lord Balrama, where we can understand the strength of Balarama Ji.

Once Samba,  Lord Krishna's son born with Jambavati kidnapped Duryodhana's daughter Laxmana. Because Sāmba took Lakṣmaṇā away from the assembly by force, all the members of the Kuru dynasty, namely, Dhṛtarāṣṭra, Bhīṣma, Vidura, Ujahan and Arjuna, thought it an insult to their family tradition that the boy, Sāmba, could possibly have kidnapped their daughter.

Duryodhana with his armies caught Samba, even Samba was so powerful even ten soldiers failed to catch him. Finally Lord Balrama came  with marriage proposal for Samba but due to false pride Duryodhana rejected and insulted Balrama Ji.

In anger Balrama ji pulled Hastinapur with His plow and try to throw in river Ganges from His mystic power, at last everyone started praising to Lord Balarama and then finally He calm down.

Hastinapur where it is now is not at its actual position but it is dragged by Balrama Ji from its original position.

We pray to Lord Balrama to shower His mercy upon us to get Krishna's love and devotion.

Happy Balrama Jayanthi, Happy Raksha Bandhan.
