Confidence, Over Confidence and Under Confidence

In Ramayana we see three characters where we can identify the level of confidence in them.

Hanuman ji, when monkey armies were in full anxiety about who will cross this huge ocean?Immediately when Jambvant Ji indicates Hanuman Ji, He realized his power and He confidently accepted the challenge remembering Lord Rama in his heart he jumped for Lanka.

Confidence is quality of goodness where person always situated in knowledge and he knows his strength very well.

Ravana, King of Lanka when Hanuman Ji destroyed whole Lanka and warned Ravana to return mother Sita else ready to die from the hands of Lord Rama but due to over confidence of his power he completely ignored warning of Hanuman Ji.

Over Confidence is quality of passion where a person only think of achieving things and due to attachment he forgot his original strength.

Kalnemi, Ravana's powerful soldier but when Ravana went to Kalnemi and asked him to block the path of Hanuman Ji and explained strength of Hanuman Ji how powerful he is, Kalnemi afraid by power of Hanuman Ji because of he was not confident of his own strength against Hauman Ji and when he go to block the path of Hanuman Ji he took form of sage.

Under Confidence is quality of Ignorance where a person can not be confident about his own strength as he has never applied his strength against any challenge.

From above characters we can understand a person who is situated in full knowledge can develop confidence, and in passion develop over confidence and in ignorance under confidence.

A person who see everything through his senses in full knowledge can always remain in Confidence.
