We are not the doer

There was a boy in the school, he always used to think I am the doer of everything and everything I wish I can do. But his mother used to tell him always, “my dear child you should not think like this, you will be proud, and nobody will like you.”
He always used to keep telling his mother, “Mother! You don’t worry your son is scholar and he always stood first in his class, no one can compete with me.” That boy become arrogant and he always used to speak with his classmates in very rude way.
There was exam time came and he was always feeling and excited I am the only one who get good marks as regularly he used to get. Exam started and he was doing very good in his all the paper. One day that was his final exam, he thought I must feel relax even my all papers gone well and this is the easy one so no need to worry.
He was in little relaxation mode, but his mother was worried with his behavior and She told, “look! my boy I am going out for some work and your exam is at 8 O’clock so please wake up and be ready.”
Boy replied very casually, “Mother, you please go and don’t worry about me.” And he again went to sleep.
His mother went out and after few hours when his mothers come back and saw he is even in sleeping mode. She called up his child, “Dear you missed your exam.” And when his child woke up and saw the clock it’s already 12 O’ clock and he started crying loudly holding his mother hand.
His mother told him nicely, Don’t worry beta, “It’s better to fail in exam and be humble rather than pass and become egoistic. And she told his Son, You are not the doer, that was your confusion.

In Bhagwad Gita Chapter 3.27, Lord Krishna says to Arjuna:

प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः
अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते २७

The spirit soul bewildered by the influence of false ego thinks himself the doer of activities that are in actuality carried out by the three modes of material nature.

Life is a preparation, death is an examination

We participate in so many exams in our life, and get the results as per our preparation for that exams. But most of the exams we have option, whether to attempt it or not? But there is one exam in our life which we may ignore saying we will see when it would come in our life, but we all have to attempt we don't have any choice, whether we are poor,  rich,  educated or illiterate. Srila Prabhupada used to say, this life is our preparation how we are preparing our-self for coming exam.  Because that exam has no prior time table, no time period, no grace marks, and no cheat sheet allowed. And you may be surprise to know, all our activities are recorded by Yamduta for our each and every moments with evidence. Yes, Yamduta will show your answer sheet and you can review it, whether he has marked you in correct way or not? You are successful, if you are passed your exams but if you are failed then you don't know when you will have to reattempt that exam (it could be after 84 laces bir

Depression vs Satisfaction

There are two types of people live in this world, one who live a satisfied life and one who goes into depression when something goes wrong in their life. A satisfied person can stay happy all the time in any circumstances but a person who looks for sense pleasure and thinks sense objects is going to give happiness to me always goes into depression, if he does not get pleasure from an objects or person. And the secret of satisfactions is to see opportunity in every aspects whether it is success or failure. Many of us become happy when we get success but become sad when failure comes in our life. We must remember one thing, in our life success and failure is not going to stay forever with anyone. A very successful person has to face even failure sometimes in his life. A satisfied person knows it very well, that is why he does not goes in to depression for his failure but he learn from it and move on. A very beautiful quotes by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, "Don't read success stories, yo

Be Humble - Time can change everything

When we get name, fame and power we puffed by the false ego and become arrogant to the people and think no one is greater than me. But our history says, who were arrogant, time has collapsed all of them. None of us can say, I can beat the time and can go against it. We all are under control of Time as Lord Krishna has already stated in the Bhagwad Gita (I am the time and eveything is under my control). But due to our false ego we do not accept this fact become arrogant with other people instead of becoming humble with them. Who was "King of Good times" now became "King of bad times", so easily we can understand time make us King or Beggar. So we should be always being humble with the people in our Good times and take blessings from them for our bad times, but we do exactly opposite of it, we become arrogant in Good times and seek for blessings in our bad times. But what is the use of it, when you hurt someone, you lose sympathy from that person's heart.
