We should not compare our self to others

Ram and Shyam studying in same school both were good friends, but Ram was very good in sports and Shyam was very good in study. Most of the time Shyam gets appreciation for his sports activities and some time Ram gets appreciation for his study.
But Ram started feeling envious to Shyam and thinking, Shyam is getting more attraction than me from teachers.
And this way he asked to his sports teacher, “Sir, I also want to play sports.” But his sports teacher explained Ram nicely, “Look Ram, you are not physically fit for sports and you are already doing your best in study so you should focus on your study rather than sports and not every person can do everything”
But by feeling inferior to Shyam, he forced his sports teacher to give my admission in sports and this way he got admission in sports.
He started practicing too much to prove himself better than Shyam. This way he started spending more time on sports than study and slowely-slowely he became poor in his class.
The day came when game started and Ram try to his level best but due to his fitness, he started feeling tired and felt down, Shyam ran to pick Ram and keep aside.
After few days when Shyam went to meet Ram at his house, Ram told to Shyam, “My dear friend due to envious from you I started sports but now I have lost my study too, I should not have copied you better I have to focus on my study.”
In Bhagwad Gita Chapter 3.35, Lord Krishna says to Arjuna:

श्रेयान्स्वधर्मो विगुणः परधर्मात्स्वनुष्ठितात्
स्वधर्मे निधनं श्रेयः परधर्मो भयावहः ३५

It is far better to discharge one’s prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another’s duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one’s own duty is better than engaging in another’s duties, for to follow another’s path is dangerous.
