Success in Failure

There is a nice story in Ramayana about Vulture King Jatayu. When Lord Rama along with his brother Laxman and mother Sita were staying in Forest during their exile period, demon king Ravana planned to kidnap mother Sita.

He made plan with Maricha and told Maricha to take a form of golden deer and try to attract Sita and then Ram will try to catch you. When Rama will shoot arrow on you, you would call hey Sita, hey Laxmana and this way I can kidnap Sita.

Ravana made his plan successful and kidnap mother Sita. But after a short distance vulture king Jatayu came on his way and showed his anger to Ravana to leave mother Sita. But Ravana refused to do so and then Jatayu fought with Ravana as He was too old to fight with Ravana but even He tried his best to protect mother Sita.

Ravana tired fighting with Jatayu and then he pulled his sword and cut Jatayu's wings and this way Jatayu fall down and then Ravana went away with mother Sita.

When Lord Rama and Laxman saw Jatayu in pool of blood, they asked about the matter and Jatayu told, "I am so sorry, I could not make it." Lord Rama took Jatayu in His lap and His eyes were filled with tears.

Lord Rama said, "You are not the loser but you won my heart by showing your devotional service towards me, although  you were not be able to achieve it."

So in this way we can see Jatayu is the most famous character in Ramayana and Lord Rama did cremation from his own hand.

Moral of the story, It is not that whether you are able to do it or not but if you tried it that make some sense.
